Usage & Billing
Astrodyne is prepaid: you add funds to a balance, and each request settles a retail charge against it based on actual token usage.
Balance
Add credit on the Billing page. There is no subscription, minimum, or overage fee — your balance is simply drawn down by settled charges, and per-model pricing is listed on the pricing page.
How a charge settles
When a request starts, Astrodyne holds an estimated amount from your balance. When it completes, the actual usage is charged and the remainder of the hold is returned. The charge shown in the Request Explorer is authoritative once the request settles; a request that delivers nothing is not charged.
Where to look
- Requests — per-request tokens, status, latency, and settled charge.
- Usage — aggregate consumption for a period.
- Billing — your balance, funding history, and every usage charge, each recorded individually.
Token usage
Charges are computed from the token counts recorded with each request — the
same
usage numbers your API responses report for non-streamed
requests, and the settled counts recorded after each streamed request.
