Pricing

Prepaid balance.
Pay for settled usage.

No subscription and no platform fee. Add funds, and you're charged at retail rates for the usage you actually settle. Every charge is itemised per request.

1

Add funds

Add prepaid funds to your account. Every credit and charge is recorded as balance activity you can review, so the balance you see is always the sum of activity you can inspect.

2

Use the API

Each request places a hold, then settles at retail rates for the tokens actually used. Streaming settles when the stream completes.

3

See every charge

Settled charges and balance activity appear in Balance & Billing and in the Request Explorer, down to the individual request.

Rates live with the models.

Pricing is charged per token in USD and depends on the model you call. Because the models available to your account come from your current catalog, retail rates are shown in the Model Catalog inside the console rather than on a static marketing table.

FAQ

Common questions.

How does billing work?

Astrodyne uses a prepaid balance. Each request places a hold and then settles at retail rates for the tokens actually used. Input and output tokens are priced separately. Settled charges appear in Balance & Billing and the Request Explorer, and each one is recorded individually.

What is the balance?

A prepaid amount you fund and draw down as you use the API. Every credit and charge is recorded as balance activity, so what you see is always the sum of activity you can inspect — there is no separate figure kept elsewhere.

Are funds refundable?

Funds are prepaid and are drawn down as you use the platform. They are not refundable to cash except where required by law.

Where can I see prices for a specific model?

Retail rates are shown in the Model Catalog in the console, alongside the models currently available to your account.

Do I need to change my code?

Point an OpenAI-compatible client at https://api.astrodyne.ai/v1 with your Astrodyne key. The rest of your code stays within the documented compatibility scope.

Is there a subscription or platform fee?

No. There is no monthly subscription and no platform fee — you pay only for settled usage.

Methodology

How we compare prices.

When we show a price comparison, this is what it means and how it is produced.

  • Per model, never across the catalog. Eligibility is decided for one model at a time. We do not average models together, and we do not publish a single figure that stands for the whole product.
  • Against the model vendor's published list price. The comparison figure is the vendor's own published direct API rate, recorded at the time we captured it, for the same model.
  • For a stated workload. A comparison is only meaningful for a specific number of input and output tokens, so the workload is always shown next to the figures.
  • Dollars, not percentages. We show both costs so you can do the arithmetic yourself.
  • Withheld rather than estimated. If there is no approved public price for the model, or no current published vendor price to compare against, we show "Pricing comparison unavailable" instead of a figure.

What this is not. It is not a quote, not a guarantee, and not a prediction of your bill. Published vendor prices change, your token mix is your own, and what you actually spend depends on what you actually send.
